I think maybe I should read the book first. I do remember JW was very admiring of him, as was papers who sent me the book. So I am looking forward to reading pleasure So I wont go looking for JW's comments til later.

It's arrived! Lovely little thing. Fewer than 100 of the pages have any writing on. I've run my fingers through the book, glanced without reading. There seem to be passages of prose, and perhaps passages of poetry, maybe voices like Woolf's The Waves...? We shall see! When shall we begin? On Wednesday???

I read a little last night! Oh my god! Perhaps not ideal reading for someone whose wife is due to give birth in seven weeks!!

nic, I read the whole book today, had heaps of time as was sitting at a conference selling books, and only busy at morning tea and lunch! As soon as I read the first chapter I thought omigod! no, nic should not be reading this!!! Do not leave it around for PIng to see!The final words of that chapter would have been touching for JW to read...re adoption. I wont say more as dont know how far you have got. But a very lovely writer.

Helicopter arrived on the beach with the first tourists for the season, wonderful fresh food and mail. I ripped in to the mail parcels with 5 year old glee..... but no Book. Next opportunity not until Monday. I will catch up then. Hope you both loving it.

I'm just heading for bed, will read a bit more before sleepy time. Yeah, interesting style. I think I'm going to have to read it all, then read it all again, before I can begin to decide whether I like it or not! Lucky it's so short!
